SSB 2011 Charity Corn Hole Tournament For Cancer (Corn Hole For Karen) Registration

More Info:

On Thursday, March 3rd from 7pm-9pm at Tommy Joe's Restaurant (Bethesda), Social Sports of Bethesda and Earl Cabellon, will be hosting a charity corn hole tournament for cancer.

Recently, a friend/colleague of Earl's from the University of Maryland (Ali Matson) moved to Tampa, FL to be with her sister Karen, who is suffering from brain cancer. Ali, has been helping take care of Karen and Karen's 7 year old daughter while she goes through chemo treat...ments and doctors appointments. As you can imagine, this has been difficult time for their family. Earl was very touched and inspired by the love and dedication Ali, her husband, Bryan and children have to pack up their life in MD and be with Karen and her family in FL.

ALL the money raised from the corn hole tournament will go to Karen and will help the family pay for meals, cleaning services for the house, etc. Registration for a team (2 people) is $20. Ali has a Facebook Fan Page and a website with more information about Karen and her story: ges/Carin-for-Karen/174547 995911857

Also, if you don’t know how to play corn hole, no worries, here's a quick video on how to play: ch?v=WdbOMzLKdbA

In addition to the corn hole tournament we’ll have a 50/50 raffle and hopefully some other prizes to raffle off throughout the night. Tommy Joe’s and SSB will also be offering $2 Miller Lites and half price appetizers during the entire event. The staff at SSB has also decided to match a $10 donation for every team that plays in the tournament that evening! The team that wins the corn hole tournament will win a $100 tab to Tommy Joe’s Restaurant.

If you are interested in registering a team you can email Earl at for information. We will be taking on site registration the night of the event as well.

Please forward this to any friends who might be interested in coming. We hope to see you there!
